Improved application on uneven surfaces

Our HM4000S Cross Web Labeller has been optimized with specially developed plastic spring-loaded applicator plates from Agtrup Plast that ensure a more efficient and flawless application on uneven surfaces such as a package of meat.

Before, the applicator had aluminum plates that went down and pressed the labels onto the product. A feature that has many advantages and works well for many product types.

However, some customers encountered the problem that if the aluminum plates pushed the labels onto something uneven, for instance, packages with randomly placed sausages with different heights, the other labels often didn't come on properly. The other labels in the row often got blown away in the application process or applied unevenly to the product.

Our product development team set out to explore new possibilities for our applicator. A new prototype was developed for further tests.

We contacted Agtrup Plast, who I have worked with before and are known as a very reliable and experienced partner," says Jørgen Seeberg, COO at HM Systems.

Agtrup Plast based in Kolding, Southern Denmark, develops and manufactures plastic solutions that ensure quality products and competitiveness.

Through sparring and collaboration between Jørn Lange, a toolmaker from Agtrup Plast and our technicians, a new prototype of the labelling machine has been created. By equipping it with 100 small plastic plates attached to springs, it can now label uneven items such as a package of meat.
